Our Business Area Real Estate Finance Continental Europe West is looking for a Senior Underwriter in Stockholm (m/f/d).


  • Operating as underwriter, incl. providing advice on structuring and risk assessment approaches with the responsibility of the Nordic countries (Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark)
  • Consultation during preparation of Deal Committee Paper and Term Sheets
  • Responsible for preparation of credit applications including analysis of the overall risks and mitigants, including sponsor structures, borrower’s financial situation, cash flow analysis and partly property analysis
  • Giving presentations in relevant internal committees
  • Leader of loan closing process and drawdown / responsibility for compliance with credit regulations
  • Make sure that all requirements  (IT Data-Input) for closing, draw down, hedging and registration of loans are fulfilled
  • Cooperation with internal and external specialists (Property, Legal, Finance and Tax Due Diligence consultants)
  • Attendance at meetings and negotiations with clients if required
  • Providing industry intelligence and networking within the market


  • Education: University degree, preferably with legal, finance, surveying or MBA qualification
  • Experience: Several years’ experience and solid understanding of CRE properties / real estate financings, very good knowledge in the Nordic real estate market
  • Knowledge of systems: Excellent IT skills and competent with Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint. Preferably some experience of internal IT applications ( Backshop, databases) and internal analyses tools (Cash-Flow, IRR-calculation, Rating and financial statement analysis tool) and application tools (Credit Application)
  • Languages: Business fluent written and spoken in a Nordic country language (e.g. Swedish) and English, preferably with business competence in a further European language.
  • Personal and business skills: Excellent analytical skills. Good knowledge in relevant legal, tax and economics, with a good awareness  of risk and profit drivers. Team player with social competence and good communication skills. Willing/able to use own initiative, ability to adjust to unforeseen events at short notice, ability to deal with potential conflicts.
  • Technical knowledge: High level of analytical and conceptual thinking. Good knowledge in financial statement and risk analysis.
